Our buddies over at picoprojector-info.com have come up with a little gem of an advert (if somewhat wacky) for a new Pico-projector phone in China. The projector module is LCoS-based (the projection module is made by iView), and it supports audio/video/photo files, and also some documents

Novatel Wireless has announced that it has successfully completed another data transmission (see the post about 4G data here ), this time over dual-carrier HSPA+, using Qualcomm ( NSDQ: QCOM )’s MDM8220 chipset.

While these aren’t the touchscreen beauties we’ve heard about , it’s always worth noting when a carrier has something new to offer. In this case, it looks like we have some proof (via a FutureShop flyer) of the Samsung Flight and the Motorola ( NYSE: MOT ) ( NYSE: MOT ) W388, coming to Rogers ( NYSE: RCI ) ( NYSE: RCI ) and Fido respectively. The Samsung Flight features a look and form-factor strikingly similar to another popular device out on the market these days.

Verizon ( NYSE: VZ ) wants its share of the Android-Snapdragon market and HTC is delivering the goods. The device is called HTC Incredible and it looks pretty much like Google ( NSDQ: GOOG )’s Nexus One.

The Nexus One has been multi-touching itself with all kinds of pinch zoom functionality for days now, while Motorola ( NYSE: MOT ) Droid users have been left wanting a quick and convenient way to zoom in and out of web pages and Google ( NSDQ: GOOG ) Maps. Today, thanks to an otherwise unassuming update to the Android Google Maps app, Droids across the nation can now pinch-zoom their hearts out.

Samsung expects that its handset shipments grow 19% to more than 270 million units this year, helped by demand for smartphones. In other words, that’s more than double that of the industry, according to the company’s president of the mobile-communication division – J.K.
