When it comes to mobile internet search, alliances are short-lived and loyalties are looser than, well, you get the point. AT&T ( NYSE: T ) recently kicked Google ( NSDQ: GOOG ) off the Android-powered Motorola BackFlip , in order to get in bed with Yahoo as the default search engine on the smartphone. Now, T-Mobile ( NYSE: DT ) USA has up and shuffled Google out the door to make space for Yahoo

Calling all IntoMobile Readers! It’s time to do good by doing good again! I’m sure you’re well aware of the devastating earthquake that happened in Chile over the weekend. Not only was the earthquake a MAJOR one, but as I sat and watched the news roll in, the aftershocks were relenting. Very tragic stuff for sure.

It looks like Verizon ( NYSE: VZ ) Wireless customers won’t have to wait long for the Nexus One, as a very similar handset just passed the FCC and it’s rocking dual-band CDMA EVDO radios. While the FCC filing doesn’t specifically out the HTC handset as Google ( NSDQ: GOOG )’s “superphone,” its model number, PB99300, is very similar to that of the Android-powered Nexus One, PB9910. During the official Nexus One announcement, Google said it would be bringing the handset to Big Red in “spring 2010.” While passing the FCC doesn’t mean a launch is imminent, handsets that jump through the governmental hoops are generally no more than a month or two out

The FCC is looking to free up to 500 megahertz of spectrum for wireless broadband over the next ten years and it will try to buy the airwaves from broadcasters. The move would help avert what FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski calls a “ spectrum crisis ” that could leave data-hungry mobile devices like the iPhone, Droid, and 3G-enabled laptops starving for wireless data AT&T ( NYSE: T ), for example, has seen a 5,000% increase in mobile data usage over the last three years thanks to the iPhone. Existing airwave holders like Fox, NBC, and ABC will be able to voluntarily give up spectrum for a cut of the auction proceeds

It looks like AT&T ( NYSE: T )’s network upgrades are paying off, as the carrier’s 3G network bested Sprint ( NYSE: S ), T-Mobile ( NYSE: DT ), and Verizon ( NYSE: VZ ) in PCWorld’s 13-city mobile data test. The report said AT&T’s download speeds were 67 percent faster on average than its competitors, with an average download speed of 1410 kbps and 773 kbps upload. This is a major turnaround for AT&T because it performed poorly in a similar test conducted last spring

The HTC HD2 is one fantastic Windows Phone , but it’s about to get even better on T-Mobile ( NYSE: DT ) USA’s network. We already know that the HD2 will be getting a slight spec-bump on its way to Big Magenta, but it’s mostly been a guessing game as far as when we’ll see the revamped HD2 and its glorious 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen going live in the US.

As expected , T-Mobile ( NYSE: DT ) has launched their latest Android-powered myTouch 3G device today. The device isn’t named myTouch 3G 1.2 as many expected, instead, the device will keep the myTouch 3G moniker (however I’m sure geeks like me will still refer to it as the 1.2!).

Google’s Nexus One sales have been fairly flat since the Android phone was launched earlier this year, but things may change with Google ( NSDQ: GOOG )’s decision to reduce its early termination fee.
