Microsoft’s Pink phone is real, coming to Verizon

Microsoft ( NSDQ: MSFT )’s long-rumored Project Pink phones have been leaked and at least one of these underwhelming handsets will be coming to Verizon ( NYSE: VZ ). The spies at Gizmodo managed to grab a few blurry shots of the slide-out QWERTY device above, and it is being code-named Pure. There’s no word on what operating system will power Pure but it doesn’t appear to be Windows Phone 7 Series or Windows Mobile 6.5.

Verizon Wireless said it has fixed a software issue that caused customers east of the Mississippi to not receive mobile data or get 3G at pathetic speeds. he nation’s largest mobile operator said there was a bad switch software at one of their data centers that caused slower data speeds, or no access at all to the 3G network. The network was suffering for about four hours and Verizon ( NYSE: VZ ) did not say how many users were impacted

CDMA Nexus One passes FCC, could be on Verizon soon

It looks like Verizon ( NYSE: VZ ) Wireless customers won’t have to wait long for the Nexus One, as a very similar handset just passed the FCC and it’s rocking dual-band CDMA EVDO radios. While the FCC filing doesn’t specifically out the HTC handset as Google ( NSDQ: GOOG )’s “superphone,” its model number, PB99300, is very similar to that of the Android-powered Nexus One, PB9910. During the official Nexus One announcement, Google said it would be bringing the handset to Big Red in “spring 2010.” While passing the FCC doesn’t mean a launch is imminent, handsets that jump through the governmental hoops are generally no more than a month or two out
